No Second Troy
Why should I blame her that she filled my days
With misery, or that she would of late
Have taught to ignorant men most violent ways,
Or hurled the little streets upon the great,
Had they but courage equal to desire?
What could have made her peaceful with a mind
That nobleness made simple as a fire,
With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind
That is not natural in an age like this,
Being high and solitary and most stern?
Why, what could she have done, being what she is?
Was there another Troy for her to burn?
-W.B. Yeats

Why, oh why must it not last... They look so sweet together ;w;
Blessed ignorance, they say, and it's so true here. What's the problem that prohibites them to stay together?
It's interesting to see how far her appreciation for him went, though, given that at first she didn't even want to see him. Can we say it's love now? Or it's too big of a word?
Also, i can imagine him being so delicate, like she's as fragile as glass or fine porcelain...

Ah, well..! Yeats being what he is--is %100 asexual, right down to lacking any actual genitalia haha
The assumption he's running under is that eventually, Ms. Bell will be well enough that one day she may wish to start a proper family, and settle down with someone who'd actually be able to provide that for her. Yeats was designed to be her care taker, but he's endeavoring with Ms. Bell to help her develop habits, coping mechanisms and other such things--so that she can regain some semblance of independence again. So in many ways, he wants to see her move on from him.
Buuut, in other ways, he quietly dreads the day.
